Die Bronzefiguren von Ludwig Kunstmann versinnbildlichen das Selbstverständnis des DHV,
der seinerzeit starken konservativen gewerkschaftlichen Organisation.

1920 und folgende Jahre: Bildhauerarbeiten am ersten Umbau / Erweiterung des Verwaltungsgebäudes
des DHV am Holstenwall in Hamburg. Die ursprünglich zahlreichen Figuren sind nur teilweise erhalten,
unter anderem 'Die Eseltränke' über dem ehemaligem Seiteneingang (Nordwest-Fassade) Holstenwall.
Der Eingang ist von in Norddeutschland einmaligen Ziegelschnittreliefs mit Märchenfiguren flankiert:

des damaligen Deutschnationalen Handlungsgehilfen-Verbands (DHV) in Hamburg, Pilatuspool.
